

A Canadian LNG export project focused on delivering natural gas to global markets.
In this role you will supervise technicians and specialists, review contractor ITPS, plan testing and installation programs, and manage RFIs and NCRs. You will work with construction managers to develop schedules, allocate resources, and support cost control and change management for the mechanical scope. Oversight includes installation of compressors, turbines, pumps, heat exchangers, and pipelines, as well as inspection of EPC work packages for compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
You will enforce safety protocols, conduct meetings, inspections and audits, and implement quality‑control measures together with the owner’s quality team. The coordinator will lead a mechanical workforce, troubleshoot issues, collaborate with electrical and civil supervisors, and maintain accurate records of progress, inspections, and incidents. Additional duties may involve participation in commissioning, monitoring mechanical‑construction expenses, ensuring environmental compliance, and identifying process‑improvement opportunities.
The Construction Coordinator joins Woodfibre LNG’s dynamic team to oversee the mechanical portion of the EPC contractor’s construction activities. Reporting to the Area Construction Manager and Site Construction Manager, the coordinator ensures safe, efficient installation, operation, and handover of mechanical systems, while interfacing with the Owner operations team. Strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and quality are essential.
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related construction technology, or equivalent field experience, is required, together with 5–10 years of relevant experience and 2–3 years of supervisory experience. Candidates should have demonstrated field work on oil & gas, LNG, or power projects, familiarity with LNG‑facility mechanical equipment, proficiency reading engineering drawings, and experience with project completion tools such as CoConsole or ProCore. Strong written and verbal communication, especially for commercial and contractual documentation, is essential.
Experience working with large, multicultural, multi‑disciplinary teams and contractors is an asset. The role demands strong interpersonal skills, accountability, innovative thinking, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure. Proficiency with Office 365, MS Teams and estimating software is expected. The position is based in Squamish, BC; a valid driver’s licence, passport, and legal entitlement to work in Canada are required.
