Diesel Mechanic

Description

• Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot engine and system issues.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, and other diesel-powered machinery.
• Repair or replace defective parts, including engines, turbochargers, fuel injectors, pumps, and wiring.
• Conduct safety checks and ensure equipment complies with DOT and OSHA standards.
• Keep shop area organized, clean, and compliant with safety regulations.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and electrical systems.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance performed.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or in a related mechanical role.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work in various environments (indoor/outdoor).
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and repair tools.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required).
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders.
• High school diploma or GED; technical school or certification in diesel technology preferred.
