In this role you will take ownership of small to medium urban design and planning projects, developing master‑planning concepts using 3‑D and digital media. You will be responsible for producing drawings, graphics, models and reports from concept through detailed design stages.
You will lead Middle East projects, set and agree design standards, review the work of team members to ensure it meets Atkins quality and client expectations, and coordinate interdisciplinary technical activities. Assigning tasks to graduates, BIM technologists and administrative staff and guiding junior members in software applications are also key duties.
A Master’s degree in Urban Design from a recognised university is required, together with at least ten years of professional experience in master‑planning projects; Middle East experience and chartered status are advantageous. Technical competency includes proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS (QGIS or ArcGIS), Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, MS Office, Advanced Excel, SketchUp and Google Pro, with additional knowledge of Rhino, Grasshopper and BIM software considered a plus.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong written and spoken English communication, the ability to work independently or within multidisciplinary teams, and a proactive approach to time, resource and budget management. Leadership qualities, knowledge sharing and a commitment to raising design standards across planning, landscape and urban design are essential.
