The role involves operating high‑speed stamping presses and banded‑pack auxiliary equipment to produce metal connector plates and steel components using both manual and automated packaging processes. Quality awareness and accurate production reporting are critical responsibilities.
Key duties include meeting or exceeding daily production goals, reporting any machine malfunctions to mechanics or supervisors, and assisting mechanics to maintain equipment operation. The employee also manually packs finished parts, marks steel lot numbers on shipping containers, and strives to keep product waste to a minimum while maintaining consistent attendance, including overtime when required.
The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and one to three months of related experience. Strong communication skills, basic math abilities, and the ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions are essential. Basic PC skills are helpful, and the ability to read a tape measure is required; prior forklift experience is preferred but not mandatory.
