The Kelowna offices of Smith + Andersen are currently seeking a Mechanical Designer with a passion for mechanical building services design. You never shy away from a load calculation, and have the skills to produce drawings in Autodesk Revit. You enjoy taking on new challenges, but you’re most excited when you can buckle down and efficiently get work done. You’re not afraid to speak up and ask tough questions, and you pride yourself on your friendly yet direct communication skills. - Familiarity with municipal and provincial codes and authorities.
- Knowledge and experience working with Autodesk Revit is required, with exposure to mechanical layouts and systems.
- 2+ years of industry experience in the field of mechanical building services.
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
- Diploma/Degree from a mechanical building services/engineering or technologist program.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate effectively with both internal and external clients.
- Familiar with structural, architectural, and electrical models to appreciate space limitations and interferences.
- Able to work independently, as well as contribute to the team
- Highly innovative and motivated with an attention to detail.
- Working knowledge with various mechanical systems such as heating, air conditioning, plumbing systems, etc.
- Working knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks Manage, or Dynamo software.
- Knowledge of all Microsoft Office suites, specifically Word and Excel.
- Demonstrate the ability to work in complex environment often driven by project deadlines.

Salary Range: $72,500 - $80,000
