Connecting and Enhancing Communities
The Engineer I in the Mountain West Civil Group will focus on transportation design and plan production for multimodal corridors, highways, interchanges, and multi‑use trail projects serving state and municipal clients. Early career responsibilities emphasize the use of transportation modeling software, while longer‑term opportunities may lead to project management or managerial roles.
Essential duties, performed under the supervision of a lead design engineer or project manager, include using Civil3D and/or MicroStation/ORD as the primary design modeler, assisting with data collection, technical analyses, and written documentation, and interacting with clients by presenting design elements at coordination meetings. The role also requires applying Federal, State, and Municipal standards, maintaining organized electronic or hard‑copy design journals, and adhering to FHU’s Total Quality Management program for all tasks and deliverables.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering from an accredited institution and have 0 to 3 years of transportation engineering experience. Preferred qualifications include prior internship experience, FE/EI certification, and proficiency with Civil3D, MicroStation/ORD, and Microsoft Office applications.
The position offers a salary range of $72,000 – $85,000 annually, with the final offer reflecting the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Applications are accepted until February 9, 2025.
