The Manager, Cost Accounting is a strategic, detail‑oriented professional who will oversee the cost management function for SAMI’s manufacturing facilities. This full‑time, permanent role reports to the VP of Finance and is responsible for costing and inventory processes, providing actionable insights to improve operational efficiency and margins, and supporting ERP implementation and plant operations in a complex manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities include leading the end‑to‑end cost accounting process, designing and maintaining costing methodologies, inventory valuation practices, and WIP tracking systems, and reviewing cost variances to deliver insights to Operations and FP&A. The manager will also partner with Operations to evaluate production performance, support budgeting and forecasting, and collaborate with FP&A and senior finance leadership on pricing and margin analysis. In addition, the role serves as the finance functional lead for the Odoo ERP implementation, ensuring data integrity, supporting user‑acceptance testing and cutover, and delivering accurate, timely reporting.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field and have at least eight years of manufacturing cost accounting experience, including job costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis. Desired experience includes advanced manufacturing environments with complex product lines, proficiency with ERP systems, advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, and strong analytical, communication, and collaboration abilities. A CPA designation, familiarity with ASPE, and prior Odoo experience are considered bonus points.
The base salary range for this position is $85,000‑$130,000, with eligibility for Mattamy’s annual bonus program.
