The role applies engineering and chemistry techniques to improve quality, manufacturing processes, and product performance while transitioning new products from R&D to production. Responsibilities include equipment and process design for efficiency, cost‑effectiveness, safety, quality, and reliability, as well as troubleshooting, repairs, reporting, and GMP‑compliant laboratory work. The position operates with minimal supervision and may involve training personnel on equipment and methods.
Core duties are divided among several focus areas: Process Lab and New Product Development (50%) supporting NPD projects, designing experiments, and analyzing results; Data Analysis/Technical Management (20%) identifying improvement and cost‑reduction opportunities, ensuring ISO/QMS compliance, and developing work instructions; Plant Support (20%) leading process‑improvement initiatives, enhancing OEE, and coordinating quality and production issues; and Pilot Plant Support (10%) operating pilot‑plant equipment, performing technical testing, and conducting lab testing for experiments.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering and have 4‑9 years of experience in a process manufacturing environment. Required skills include analytical thinking, problem solving, strong oral and written communication, interpersonal abilities, organization, leadership, and teamwork. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Mini‑Tab or similar software is required, and travel up to 50% (domestic and international) with a passport is expected.
The position also demands physical capabilities such as lifting 50 lb, pushing/pulling 25 lb, standing, sitting, twisting/bending, and occasional squatting, climbing, or crawling.
