Instrument Engineer

Description

• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, process, etc.) during project execution.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair instrumentation and control systems.
• Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with quality and safety procedures.
• Develop and implement calibration procedures and schedules for field instruments.

• Support configuration, testing, and optimization of PLCs, DCS, and SCADA systems.

• Develop and review instrumentation and control system designs, drawings, and specifications.
• Participate in HAZOP, SIL, and risk assessments.

• Recommend and implement improvements to instrumentation systems for better reliability and efficiency.
• Design & SpecificationDevelop and review instrumentation and control system designs, drawings, and specifications.Select appropriate instruments, sensors, transmitters, and control systems for process applications.Prepare datasheets, material requisitions, and technical bid evaluations.
• Ensure all instrumentation work complies with industry standards (ISA, IEC, API, etc.).

Requirements

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
• Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.

• Technical Skills:Strong knowledge of process instrumentation (flow, pressure, level, temperature, etc.)Experience with PLC, DCS, SCADA systems, and fieldbus communication (HART, Modbus, Profibus)Familiarity with P&IDs, loop diagrams, and control narrativesUnderstanding of hazardous area classifications and intrinsically safe systems

• Experience:

Typically 3–10 years of experience in instrumentation design, installation, or maintenance (depending on job level).

• Familiarity with P&IDs, loop diagrams, and control narratives
