Description

• Develop and implement project‑management strategies, policies and procedures to boost efficiency, quality and profitability.
• Oversee full lifecycle of multiple simultaneous projects, ensuring planning, execution, monitoring and closure while managing risks and regulatory compliance.
• Manage project budgets, cost control, forecasting and achieve commercial targets, monitoring financial performance against key metrics.
• Secure and deliver projects valued between £250,000 and £3.4 million with end‑users and main contractors.
• Lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing team of Project Managers and support staff, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and stakeholders to exceed client expectations and generate repeat business.
• Champion a proactive health‑and‑safety culture and enforce rigorous quality‑control processes in line with contractual and legislative requirements.
• Optimise allocation of internal and external resources to ensure efficient project delivery.

Requirements

The company is seeking an experienced Projects Director to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for its portfolio of building‑services projects. Based at the head office with occasional site visits, the Director will drive projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. This pivotal role reports directly to senior management and is key to enhancing project delivery capability and supporting Artic’s continued growth.

• Hold a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering or Construction Management.
• Possess 10+ years senior project‑management or director‑level experience in the M&E/building‑services sector.
• Demonstrate a track record of delivering complex, high‑value building‑services projects.
• Exhibit strong commercial acumen, contract negotiation, financial management and P&L responsibility.
• Have in‑depth knowledge of M&E systems, building regulations, health‑and‑safety legislation and industry best practices.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills with influence at all organisational levels.
• Hold a full UK driving licence for occasional site visits.
• Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
