Update and correct a wide variety of customer, site and account information in the billing system as required with a high level of accuracy and quality.
Correct mixed meter situations including validating geographic data and completing billing adjustments for affected accounts.
Make recommendations to improve customer care and billing processes and system configurations to improve efficiency and customer service.
Respond to requests for assistance from internal work groups who require guidance on billing processes from end to end, tariffs or market transactions.
Resolve assigned To Dos for usage and billing exceptions that prevent accounts from billing accurately or on time by following business processes and procedures. Exceptions span the entire utility meter to cash process, from meter data collection, usage and billing calculations, tariff billing and market transactions.
Execute manual billing processes for complex rates including quality assurance tasks.
Execute the process to end billing on salvaged sites including manual corrections and issuing field orders.
Identify, investigate and escalate issues where the billing system or interfaces to other utility systems are not behaving as expected.
Add and validate rate schedules for new and upgraded services.
Support the investigation, analysis and quantify the scope and scale of billing issues.
Investigate situations that require review of historical consumption beyond the history stored in the billing system, resolve errors and complete manual calculations and billing corrections.
Execute User Acceptance Testing test scripts and determine if actual results meet the expected results. Attempt to explain any difference between actual and expected results, and if necessary, escalate any unexplainable discrepancies.
Execute the Site ID creation process for new services.

Proven ability to take initiative and work independently.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
Familiarity with Oracle CCS, Oracle Customer to Meter (C2M) or Oracle Customer Care & Billing (CC&B) an asset.
University Undergraduate Degree or Diploma in a related discipline (Business Administration, Information Technology, Computing Science, Accounting). Relevant experience will be considered.
Experience working within complex IT environments and Utility IT systems.
Minimum 2 years’ related experience, preferably in a utility customer service and billing role. Experience with back-office business processes in a vertically integrated utility an asset.
Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Demonstrated understanding of the electric utility industry and relevant regulatory requirements, including market rules, tariff billing, and Alberta’s deregulated energy market.
Demonstrated knowledge of Alberta Utilities Commission Rules and Codes governing distribution utilities in Alberta.
Proven ability to analyze and interpret data.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
