Product Support Engineer Rail

Description

In this position you will conduct routine maintenance and repairs on MTU rail products, adhering to approved manuals and contract requirements while embracing digitalisation throughout the process.

You will perform preventative, scheduled and corrective maintenance, participate in continuous‑improvement activities, and engage with customers to obtain sign‑off for completed work. Additional duties include fault finding, documentation of all activities, adherence to HSQE processes, and maintaining a clean onsite environment.

• Perform preventative, scheduled, and corrective maintenance per manuals and contracts.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives and suggest process enhancements.
• Execute planned maintenance tasks following operating instructions.
• Participate in customer meetings to obtain sign‑off for completed work.
• Diagnose faults and repair equipment using technical drawings and guides.
• Document all work accurately for company and customer records.
• Engage proactively in HSQE management processes.
• Keep SGB onsite facilities clean and orderly.
• Attend training courses to maintain current technical skills.
• Report parts usage accurately to control inventory.
• Utilise IT systems such as Go!Care, C4S, eWeb, Go!Manage, Diasys, and Outlook.

Requirements

The role requires an engineering background with at least an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent, strong safety awareness, and proficiency in MS Office. Training will be provided for SAP and the MTU Business Portal, and preferred candidates are proactive, well‑organised, flexible, and collaborative.
