The Project Estimator will lead the development of estimates for the Plaquemine Expansion and coordinate the estimates required for the Plaquemine capital and operational requirements.
During execution of the Plaquemine Expansion, the estimator will interface with the contracts team on cost trends and contract changes, prepare estimates for execution changes, assess impacts, and work with the project team to develop and process estimates that support the management‑of‑change process for LNG process and supporting facilities.
The role supports the change‑management program from trend identification through estimate development to contract‑change handover to the Company Contracts & Procurement team. It also plays a crucial role in accurately assessing project costs and timelines, contributing to effective planning and decision‑making, and developing historical metrics for future evaluations and comparisons.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements, analyzing documentation to develop comprehensive estimates, using industry‑specific software to create cost breakdowns, ensuring alignment of estimates with project goals, identifying risks, assisting in bid evaluation, continuously updating estimates, participating in project review meetings, and summarizing historical information for benchmarking.
We are seeking an experienced Project Estimator with a strong background in project controls to join our team. The position will initially be located in Houston, Texas, then transition to Plaquemine Parish, Louisiana, reporting directly to the Senior Director of Project Controls on site and functionally to the Vice President of Estimating.
The ideal candidate possesses keen attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and a deep understanding of project management principles.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience), proven estimating and project‑controls experience in construction or engineering, preferably in the LNG or power production industry, strong proficiency with estimation software and Microsoft Office, excellent analytical and communication skills, knowledge of industry standards, and strong organizational abilities to manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
