  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system issues for distribution and facility equipment. Manage outside contractors when specialized expertise is required.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, company policies, and all regulatory requirements. Promote a strong culture of workplace safety.
  • Partner with operations and engineering on equipment installations, upgrades, and process improvements. Recommend and implement best practices for reliability and efficiency.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and vendor relationships. Negotiate services, monitor contractor performance, and control maintenance budgets.
  • Direct hard and soft services such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, janitorial, and building repairs. Oversee projects that support long-term facility integrity.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and compliance documentation. Provide reports on performance, downtime, and key metrics.
  • Lead, supervise, and develop a team of maintenance technicians and contractors. Provide coaching, performance feedback, and scheduling to support facility needs.
  • Develop and oversee preventive maintenance programs for equipment and facility systems. Coordinate schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and time management.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics/pneumatics, conveyor systems, HVAC, welding, machining, and forklift repair.
  • 5+ years of progressive maintenance experience in distribution, warehouse, or manufacturing environments.
  • Exhibits and adheres to the established VCC Core Values.
  • Ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, ladder diagrams, and schematics.
  • Teamwork, adaptability, and ability to prioritize under shifting business needs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel – formulas, pivot tables, charts; Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field or 8+ years of equivalent work experience in maintenance leadership.
  • Effective verbal and written communication across email, phone, and group settings.
  • Strategic planning and continuous improvement mindset
  • Hands-on skills in mechanical, electrical, and control systems troubleshooting.
  • Decision-making and problem-solving in high-volume environments.
