Senior Data Analyst - Internal Audit

Description

The role supports the data analytics and audit program of the Internal Audit function by creating computer‑assisted audit techniques that increase the depth and breadth of traditional financial audits. It is responsible for strengthening the function’s use of artificial intelligence and machine learning to advance audit capabilities.

The position involves continuous improvement initiatives, such as leveraging data for risk identification, driving adoption of AuditBoard within the Operational Excellence program, and collaborating with business stakeholders, IT, and data‑science teams to integrate AI solutions into existing workflows.

• Support audit teams with data analysis for financial and operational audits, defining risk indicators and delivering analytics.
• Develop and implement AI/ML models, including deep learning, to analyze large datasets and generate actionable insights.
• Perform data preprocessing, feature engineering, model validation, and continuous model monitoring.
• Manage and manipulate large datasets, create visualizations and dashboards for stakeholder insights.
• Ensure data quality and governance throughout analytics processes.
• Identify and drive process improvements and innovation using AI and analytics.
• Utilize data to support continuous risk identification and integration with risk‑based audit planning.
• Drive adoption of AuditBoard and maintain departmental reporting.
• Communicate complex analytical findings and AI solutions clearly to non‑technical stakeholders and senior management.
• Collaborate with business, IT, and data‑science teams to integrate AI technologies into workflows.
• Lead special projects and ad‑hoc analyses to address complex business challenges.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of data science or analytics experience; Bachelor’s in Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, or Statistics.
• Preferred certifications (CPA, CIA, CMA, etc.) and experience with manufacturing processes, ERP data extraction, and CAAT tools such as Python, R, SQL, Alteryx, Snowflake.
• Proficiency with machine learning, Microsoft Power Platform, Power BI, Tableau, advanced Excel, and audit concepts (GAAS, GAAP).
• Strong attention to detail, communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills; proactive, continuous‑improvement mindset.
• Must reside within 50 miles of Beachwood, OH and be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Eaton’s Corporate Sector division is seeking a Senior Data Analyst – Internal Audit. The annual salary range is $83,250 to $122,100, with final compensation based on the candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications, and market considerations.
