Desk Based Account Manager

Description

• Drive sales and support revenue growth through upselling, cross-selling, and introducing new product ranges.
• Work closely with field-based account managers, sales leaders, and support teams to ensure cohesive customer coverage.
• Identify growth opportunities within the account base and take actions to unlock potential.
• Monitor the uptake and success of promotions, providing feedback to marketing and commercial teams.
• Work towards monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets aligned to the overall commercial strategy.
• Act as a brand ambassador, promoting value-added services and reinforcing customer loyalty.
• Tailor promotional messaging based on customer needs, seasonality, and market trends.
• Manage a structured call plan to proactively engage with a defined set of builders’ merchant accounts.
• Assist in onboarding new customers and supporting administrative follow-up as needed.
• Provide insights into customer behaviour, competitor activity, and market dynamics.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day queries, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of internal processes to enhance customer experience.
• Report on account performance, promotional results, and customer feedback to internal stakeholders.
• Promote and co-ordinate marketing campaigns and promotional initiatives with your customer base.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activity, and opportunities in our CRM system.
• Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with key contacts across your customer portfolio.

Requirements

• Ability to analyse data.
• Proven experience in a sales or account management role, ideally within construction, building supplies, or a related B2B environment.
• Comfortable working to targets and KPIs in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent listening, negotiation, motivation, and presentation skills.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills via phone, email, and virtual platforms.
• Proficient in CRM tools, Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, Outlook), and sales reporting.
• Commercial acumen and ability to identify sales opportunities
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
