The Maintenance Technician A works under direct supervision from a Lead Technician, Fleet Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager. The role involves repair and maintenance of diesel and non‑diesel equipment and trucks, including chassis components, refuse bodies, air brake systems, engines, HVAC, and suspension, drivetrain and steering systems. Employees enjoy working on a single fleet of state‑of‑the‑art vehicles, receive training on new technologies, and have a stable regular shift.
Daily tasks include complex on‑site and on‑the‑road repairs such as chassis component maintenance, refuse body control, hydraulic and electrical systems, air and hydraulic braking, engine work, suspension, drivetrain, steering, heating and air conditioning, and line‑maintenance welding and fabrication. Technicians identify malfunctions using electronic diagnostic tools, complete required company training, and perform other job‑related duties as needed.
Qualifications require at least three years of heavy‑duty truck experience and the ability to inspect and repair systems such as suspensions, steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drivetrain, and diesel emissions without constant supervision. ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1‑T8), LNG/CNG experience, and a Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License are considered a plus. A valid driver’s license is mandatory.
The position offers a wage of $55.70 per hour with eligibility for a bonus plan.
