Lead HVAC design for commercial projects, handling specs, calculations, and client presentations.
-Prepares and delivers client presentations. -Coordinate with other engineering disciplines. -Perform Heating, Cooling Load Calculations and Title 24 Compliance calculations. -Performs site inspections to verify equipment selection. -Works with our team of Project Managers throughout project design and construction -Responsible for the quality of work produced by third party engineering consultants. -Interacting in a professional manner with other EMCOR/Mesa departments (ie. Operations, chiller teams, project management, service etc.) -Prepares preliminary (redline) design layouts for estimating. -Develops an engineering scope of work, recommends equipment selections, and other pre-construction activities. -Participates in conceptual design for specific projects. -Performs calculations for a project, such as heating/cooling loads, equipment selection and sizing, pipe and duct sizing, friction loss calculations, etc. -Help to develop, write, and review client proposal documents including financial and technical sections.
-Extensive design experience with chilled water central plants. -Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. -Mechanical designs for central chiller plants, package units, split systems, air handling units, variable refrigerant volume units and other mechanical systems -Ability to manage multiple deadlines. -Experience with energy efficiency, developing or supporting performance-based projects or energy services. -Knowledge of AutoCAD MEP or Revit -Professional Engineering license required. -10+ years’ experience in HVAC Design/construction -Must be able to manage multiple projects at any given time. -Strong customer presentation skills and a demonstrated sales aptitude. -Financial acumen, inclusive of cost modeling for sales proposals. -CEM, highly preferred -Computer skills using MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, and Adobe Acrobat. -Experienced with Mechanical Codes and Energy Efficiency Standards -Must be capable of making autonomous decisions based on experience and project requirements. -BS in Mechanical Engineering required. -Independent decision making is required. -Knowledge of OSHPD/HCAI codes is a plus. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills. -Experience in developing technical and cost proposals. -Ability to write technical proposals and reports.
