Engineering Director - Nuclear Infrastructure

• Lead and coordinate all engineering activities including optioneering, design, and design review.
• Define and manage the Owner’s requirements for infrastructure and site logistics scope.
• Establish and implement engineering processes, quality systems, and design control procedures.
• Manage budgets, schedules, and resources for the engineering scope.
• Support senior management in achieving programme objectives, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
• Oversee interface, change, configuration, and non-conformance management across the project.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation across all teams.
• Develop and manage a high-performing engineering team, ensuring capability, performance, and capacity to deliver the project.
• Provide technical guidance and resolution support across departments including construction, quality, and permitting.
• Oversee design reviews and technical assurance for EPC contractor deliverables.

Requirements

This position requires exceptional technical oversight, strong leadership, and proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams within large-scale engineering environments.

Assystem is seeking an experienced Engineering Director, specialised in Nuclear Infrastructure, to lead the engineering scope for a major nuclear infrastructure development in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will play a pivotal leadership role in the design and delivery of complex site logistics and infrastructure systems, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and technical excellence throughout all phases of the programme.

• Proven success managing large, multidisciplinary teams on major infrastructure or nuclear programmes.
• Degree (or equivalent) in an engineering or scientific discipline.
• Experience in nuclear or highly regulated industries is preferred.
• Strong understanding of engineering standards, value engineering, and stakeholder management.
• Proven ability to motivate diverse, multicultural teams.
• Culturally aware, adaptable, and results-oriented.
• Strong experience in a senior leadership role, ideally as Engineering Director.
• Strategic leadership and decision-making capability.
• Extensive proven experience in the engineering development of infrastructure projects.
• Chartered Engineer (or equivalent professional registration).
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Strong technical acumen with the ability to manage complexity and ambiguity.
