General Foreman

Description

• 10% - Work with field engineers on planning and layout.
• 10% - Work closely with Superintendent to maintain schedules and quality.
• 10% - Oversight of design and building of form work using tools.
• While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; hear and speak; and is occasionally required to smell.
• 10% - Maintain safety by setting example, presenting safety talks and inspection of jobsite to insure against possible hazards.
• Coordinating eye‑hand and eye‑hand‑foot movements and activities in using hand and power tools.
• 15% - Maintain open communication with Superintendent, Project Manager, Secretary, Labor Foreman, Subcontractors, Architects, and Owners.
• Climbing and balancing up and down ladders, scaffolds and similar devices using feet, legs, hands, and arms to perform task, as in ditches or at heights.
• Lifting and carrying material and objects, usually by holding them in the hands or arms or on the shoulder.
• 35% - Direct and supervise human resources in a safe and efficient manner.

Requirements

• Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Walking/ balancing and moving about on foot to perform tasks where there is rough terrain and/or impediments such as sand, mud, ice and snow.
• Crawling, crouching, stooping, kneeling, pulling, pushing and reaching to perform tasks, as in confined spaces.
• Grasping tools, materials and natural objects (such as trees, brush, rocks, etc.), as in performing clean‑up or excavating tasks.
• Hearing (either naturally or with correction) instructions, warnings and other verbal communication on the job site where construction and heavy equipment noises are present.
• Seeing (either naturally or with correction) and observing at a distance, as in receiving hand signals
