Director of Development & Transformation

The post holder will oversee organisational development, net zero delivery, data and insight capability, and the expansion of circular economy initiatives, working closely with senior stakeholders to design and implement system-wide change. The position requires a strategic leader who can bridge policy and delivery, influence at executive level, and secure measurable outcomes for both residents and partner organisations.

Applicants should have a proven track record in leading complex transformation or change programmes, ideally within sustainability, waste, climate action, infrastructure or other data-driven public sector environments. Strong commercial awareness, financial governance, cross-authority partnership working and senior team leadership are key requirements.

A senior leadership opportunity has arisen for an experienced transformation professional to shape the future of sustainability and circular economy delivery across London. Offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract, this role will lead a major environmental transformation portfolio spanning multiple local authority partners, with responsibility for delivering innovation, decarbonisation and service reform at scale.
