Perform materials inspection and acceptance prior to installation
Compose, submit and log weekly status reports, weekly percentage completion reports, and daily reports to include: project conditions (i.e. trade manpower and work description), architectural and engineering communication and direction, general conditions, temperatures, weather conditions, general conditions and activities, site work, subcontractors and personnel, hours worked, description of work performed, equipment used, verbal discussions and oral instructions, phone conversations, visitors to site, job requirements, photos, videos, delays
Maintain satisfactory compliance with specifications and standards and maintain accurate records
Provide daily photos of entire job site construction progress. When necessary, provide photos to verify pre-construction existing building and site conditions
Maintain as-built drawings for the duration of the project
Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
Attend various meetings as needed related to assigned construction projects
Post addendums to plans and specifications
Identify potential problems and notify the contractor and project engineer of any potential problems
Responsible for job specific quality system tasks as defined in quality manual
Keep project engineer and supervisor abreast of progress throughout duration of assigned projects
Submit detailed documentation of daily construction activities

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration
Must be able to operate a computer and computer software related to word processing and spreadsheets
Valid Georgia Driver’s License required and maintain a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets company policy standards
Occasionally required to walk; sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Must be able to interpret and implement company mandated safety policies
Thorough knowledge of engineering plans, specifications, and drawings
Cross-skilled inspector in the areas of asphalt/resurfacing and utility inspection, preferred
Required to walk in rugged conditions
NICET, ACI, ICC or certifications related to asphalt resurfacing and erosion control required OR must be able to obtain certifications within 6 months of hire
High school diploma/General Equivalency Diploma(GED)
Proficient written and verbal communication skills needed for submitting extensive written reports and documentation; construction reports and logs are written and filed daily
Thorough knowledge of construction practices, techniques, materials and related equipment
Must have an ability to operate a level and have an understanding of cut and fills and elevations for grades
Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 125 pounds
Must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications and to compare them with various aspects of construction in progress, to detect errors in construction projects, establish and maintain effective working relationships with contractors, property owners and associates
Must have basic mathematical skills to assist with measurements and computations of installed quantities
Frequently required to stand up to eight hours or more at a time
Must be able to perform specific installation tasks and field measurements
2 years of experience inspecting all utilities, electrical, waterline installation and roadway construction
