The Design Interface Manager will support the Fraser River Tunnel Project (FRTP), overseeing design interfaces across multiple engineering disciplines throughout the project lifecycle. The role centers on developing and implementing the technical definition process to ensure clear, documented, and integrated interface requirements. Success will be measured by delivering a coordinated, constructible tunnel design on schedule and to quality standards.
Reporting to senior leadership, the manager will lead the Zone Management team, establish cross‑discipline interface requirements, and conduct thorough technical reviews to resolve interface issues. Coordination with the Design‑Builder and external stakeholders will be essential to maintain the Interface Management Plan and drive timely delivery of integrated design outputs. Key accountabilities include creating and maintaining a comprehensive Technical Interface Register and Matrix, updating them as new information arises, and defining an interface schedule with clear milestones. The manager will organize and facilitate design coordination meetings, workshops, and third‑party reviews, ensuring consistent documentation across design packages. Collaboration with Discipline Technical Leads, Package Owners, the System Assurance Team, and the Systems Requirements Manager will support safety assessments and compliance with the Design Management Plan, Project Management Plan, and Quality Management protocols.
