As the Director of Environmental Services, you will lead an established team of environmental specialists with expertise in environmental compliance, wetland delineation and permitting, and environmental documentation. You will be responsible for the group’s marketing efforts to build upon our current strengths and identify opportunities for growth and expansion to new markets and clients.
- Developing, championing, and advocating for the vision of Alliant’s Environmental Services Group
- Expanding Alliant’s environmental service offerings through talent acquisition, training, and partnering
- Managing quality of work and tracking project budgets and schedules
- Contaminated materials management, including contaminated groundwater dewatering, and asbestos and regulated materials disposal
- Managing workload, schedules, and other tasks needed to lead the group through collaboration with project managers across Alliant’s service areas
- Coordinating Alliant representation and participation at industry conferences and within professional organizations
- Identifying future project opportunities and preparing technical proposals, scopes of work, and fee estimates
- Collaborating with Alliant Transportation and Land Development project managers to ensure timely and quality delivery of environmental services
- SWPPP design for NPDES permitting including preparing erosion and sediment control and turf establishment plans
- Mentoring staff and new hires to broaden their knowledge and professional skills
- Communicating with clients and project team on project logistics and status

Alliant is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic professional to manage and lead our growing Environmental Services Group. - Experience working with transportation and/or land development projects
- Proven track record preparing proposals, marketing, and successfully securing projects from varied clients
- Wetland Delineator certification, preferably in Minnesota
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to communicate clearly through written and verbal communication
- Erosion and Stormwater Construction Site Management and/or Designer of SWPPP Certification
- Proven ability preparing and presenting technical information to varied audiences
- Ten or more years of experience in the environmental sector
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Geology, Civil Engineering, or related field
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service and fulfill commitments related to project deadlines
- NEPA and MEPA environmental documentation
- Thorough understanding of federal, state, municipal, and watershed district environmental regulatory programs, including NPDES, Wetland Conservation Act, MNDNR Public Waters, and Section 404 & 401 permitting
- Experience with any of the following facets of environmental protection and their associated permitting requirements:
- Thorough understanding of NEPA and MEPA requirements for Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), Environmental Assessments (EA and EAW), Alternative Urban Areawide Reviews (AUAR), and Categorical Exclusions (CATEX)
- Experience working closely with owner, regulatory agencies, and contractor staff on active construction projects

The base pay for this position is expected to be in the range of $140,000 - $170,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
