What you would be doing

  • Support finance and valuation-related workstreams of M&A and Divestment processes
  • Develop integrated projections, working with the Finance, Performance, Strategy and Development teams
  • Work with other deal team members across multiple workstreams on live transactions
  • Review and consolidate Divisional financial planning models as part of the 5-year Strategic Plan process
  • Prepare cost of capital updates and review capital structures of CRH and sector companies
  • Work with other departments on confidential projects e.g. Group Leadership Team / Investor Relations
  • Review and monitor performance of recent acquisitions
  • Assist in the preparation of Group and Divisional Strategy Documents for the CRH Board.
  • Work with the team to develop diligence toolkits and guidelines for corporate finance and valuation activities
  • Perform detailed scenario analysis, as well as quantifying the impacts of different capital allocation strategies
  • Review multi-year performance bridges and assess macro trends and external third-party forecasts
  • Review investment opportunities for medium and large transactions, supporting GLT and CRH Board
  • Assist with the design and implementation of financial planning tools and systems
  • Support the leadership team on a wide range of corporate finance projects
  • Liaise with 3rd party advisors on both buy-side and sell-side transactions
  • Assess key impacts of large deals e.g. e.g. EPS, debt metrics as well as sector and end-use
  • Perform detailed benchmarking across CRH and industry peers
  • Provide continuity through the deal cycle – Due Diligence / Valuations / SPA review / Completion

  • Experience of designing / using financial planning tools / systems, (particularly Hyperion) would be an advantage
  • Highly motivated and comfortable working in a demanding fast-paced environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Knowledge of financial modelling and valuations
  • Team player with ability to contribute both individually and as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to liaise with Managing Directors, CFOs and other senior leaders
  • Demonstrates integrity and trust, with ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality
  • Strong financial and analytical skills and attention to detail, with a commercial mindset focused on economic value
  • Professional qualification (ACA, CFA or equivalent)
