The Mechatronics Junior Technician Apprentice role offers a comprehensive classroom, laboratory and on‑the‑job learning program to install, alter, troubleshoot, repair and maintain electronic, mechanical, computer, control and robotics/automation equipment in a complex fulfillment/distribution center.
As an apprentice you will follow work processes closely while job‑shadowing a technical advisor, communicate effectively within a team, work with technical documentation and computers, and learn to operate material‑transfer conveyors, PLCs, and robotic systems under the guidance of experienced engineers.
Upon completion you will combine electronic, mechanical, computer and control skills to analyze, troubleshoot and repair high‑performance manufacturing systems, perform scheduled and preventive maintenance, interpret technical specifications, and collaborate with other technicians to ensure equipment functions safely and efficiently.
Required qualifications include being 18 years or older with a high school diploma or GED, passing a Mechanical Aptitude Test, basic computer skills and the ability to travel for a 12‑week training at one of three sites. Preferred qualifications are at least one year of experience in preventive maintenance, industrial machine repair, and working with compressors and pneumatics.
The position involves repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, standing and walking, with lifting of parts averaging 20 lb and occasionally up to 49 lb, as well as work in small spaces, dust, fumes, temperature extremes, noise, vibration and on concrete surfaces for long shifts.
