Document Control Technician

Description

• Process, distribute, retrieve, maintain, and archive project-related records in PMWeb and hard-copy formats.
• Support project teams in organizing workflows and approvals.
• Train new staff on document control procedures; may serve as lead Document Control Technician.
• Control, scan, index, link, file, and distribute documents for internal and external stakeholders (City Agencies, consultants, contractors).
• Participate in project meetings as needed.
• Prepare transmittals and manage correspondence, technical submittals, project reports, RFIs, and contract plans/specifications.

Requirements

• Must have reliable transportation to travel between office and field locations.
• Ability to interface with diverse technical and professional backgrounds.
• Previous construction environment experience highly desirable.
• Two-year technical degree required.
• Candidate may be co-located with construction management teams in field environments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
• Experience at large international airports preferred.
• Positive, “can-do” attitude with the ability to deliver consistently accurate results at a fast pace.
• Experience with PMWeb or similar large-scale document control software (Documentum highly desirable).
• Proven track record of accuracy, reliability, and growth in prior roles.
• Certification for document control professionals highly desirable.
• Effective oral and written communication skills; customer-service oriented.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Must be able to occasionally lift/move boxes up to 40 lbs.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
• 5–10 years of document processing and data management experience, preferably in large-scale construction programs ($25M+).
