Tasks

-Maintain and organize drawing databases and file management systems -Coordinate drafting efforts to meet project schedules and maintain deliverable quality -Serve as a technical resource on CAD standards and best practices across teams -Perform and review complex design calculations with minimal supervision -Implement and maintain drafting standards, workflows, and quality control procedures across projects -Mentor, train, and supervise junior CAD staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment -Lead the development of high-quality technical drawings and civil site plans using Autodesk Civil 3D -Collaborate with engineers and project managers to incorporate engineering principles and resolve design challenges

What You Bring

-Expert-level proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D is required -Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across disciplines -Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail -High school diploma or equivalent required (Associate’s degree or technical training preferred) -8+ years of CAD design experience, with an emphasis on civil site development -Proven ability to lead drafting efforts on complex projects independently -Ability to manage plotting/printing settings and coordinate final deliverables -Gain familiarity and align work with Kimley-Horn’s internal practices, procedures, and quality expectations -Strong understanding of civil engineering concepts, grading, utilities, and site layout
