Under direct supervision, you will handle and maintain the flow of materials and products on the premises according to established guidelines. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
You will physically handle materials used to construct components and finished products, lifting, carrying, and stacking items as needed. Operating motorized and non‑motorized material handling equipment, some of which may require specialized training, is part of the role. You will respond to training from foremen or senior handlers and follow all safety procedures, attending periodic safety meetings and recommending improvements when needed.
The role requires a high school diploma or GED and is an entry‑level position that provides on‑the‑job training. You must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and meet the physical demands described.
Key competencies include knowledge and ability to use motorized and non‑motorized material handling equipment, manual dexterity, and a solid understanding of safety procedures. You should be able to apply common‑sense understanding to follow detailed written or oral instructions.
Work is performed in a production environment subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels, and dust. You must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lb frequently and up to 80 lb occasionally, and may be required to climb, push, or kneel while performing tasks.
