Purchasing Clerk

Description

Working with minimal supervision, the clerk performs administrative and clerical duties that support department innovation, growth, and cost-savings. The role involves managing data, interacting with suppliers, and ensuring accurate purchase processing.

• Organize data and spreadsheets; operate office equipment such as computers, scanners, and printers.
• Assist with quarterly and year-end inventory, track incoming orders, and ensure timely delivery.
• Enter order details (vendors, quantities, price changes) into the internal database and set up new vendors/inventory parts.
• Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and prepare purchase product reports.
• Receive materials in the Navision system and reconcile inventory counts.
• Follow safety practices and Champion Operating Principles.
• Exercise independent judgment, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively.

Requirements

The Purchasing Clerk reports to the Department Manager in Chandler, Arizona, and works as a non-exempt employee. All employees must follow company policies and demonstrate safety, punctual attendance, productivity, teamwork, and high-quality performance in all tasks.

The position may require occasional lifting of 40-50 lb and regular sitting, standing, and walking, with close-vision requirements. Champion Home Builders is an equal-opportunity employer and participates in the E-Verify program.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) with strong analytical, detail-oriented, and interpersonal skills.
• Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, experience in manufactured housing, purchasing, material handling, or shipping/receiving, and familiarity with supply chain and inventory management systems.
