The role involves designing and building memory or circuit blocks at the gate or transistor level, followed by simulation and analysis using transistor‑level simulators. Engineers will extract layouts, perform post‑layout simulations, and verify designs, as well as floorplan physical implementation and integrate layout components. Additionally, they will integrate characterization flows to extract timing and power information, develop automation scripts, and specify and verify behavioral and physical memory models, documenting specifications and timing diagrams while supporting silicon test planning and data correlation.
Ideal candidates possess a strong understanding of transistor‑level circuit behavior, device physics, and signal‑integrity, EM/IR, and reliability analyses. Proficiency with simulators, automation scripting, and EDA tools is essential, and familiarity with memory models, circuit design, DFT schemes, and chip‑level integration is a plus. Effective communication, leadership, self‑motivation, multitasking, and a passion for solving complex problems are also valued.
A bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering is required. Broadcom is an equal‑opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants without regard to protected characteristics, including those with arrest and conviction records where permissible by law.
