Chief Financial Officer

Description

• Build and mentor a high-performing finance and accounting team.
• Drive cost discipline and collaborate with operations to enhance project-level profitability.
• Identify opportunities for margin improvement, process optimization, and high-return investments.
• Support M&A evaluation and integration as needed.
• Lead all financial functions: accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, reporting, and risk mitigation.
• Partner with the CEO and executive team to shape company strategy and execution.
• Manage relationships with auditors, banks, insurers, bonding agents, and tax advisors.
• Ensure full tax compliance and proactively pursue tax optimization opportunities.
• Develop financial strategies to support growth beyond $200M in annual revenue.
• Develop and maintain KPIs and dashboards to support executive decision-making.
• Provide financial oversight for multi-state construction projects, including tax and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of construction financials, job costing, WIP schedules, revenue recognition, and multi-state operations.
• Deep understanding of U.S. tax codes and tax-efficient strategies.
• Collaborative, hands-on approach with comfort working closely with founders and field teams.
• Experience in commercial construction or a closely related industry is required.
• 10+ years of progressive finance leadership, including CFO or VP of Finance roles.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
• Proven success in companies with $150M+ in annual revenue and scaling to $200M+.
• CPA or MBA preferred but not required.
