Technical responsibilities include providing support to Huntsville, Sylmar and AmpaSpace manufacturing facilities and all related products through the effective use of engineering skills and experience in structural design and analysis, electrical design, product testing, and product documentation.
Participate on safety, quality and value improvement teams, be responsible to attend and contribute to several ongoing activities such as manufacturing planning, budget preparation and departmental IT planning.
Remain technically aware of industry trends, government regulations, customer requirements and PPG Aerospace Transparency’s manufacturing process requirements in order to personally contribute suggestions and recommendations.
Responsible for technical communications within PPG, as well as to customers and to governmental regulatory agencies and authorities by means of engineering test reports, presentations, white papers, etc., in support of all new and existing products.
Provide continuous improvement for the department’s environmental, health and safety, quality and value performance to insure an injury free work place, 100% compliance to customer satisfaction while meeting plant profitability objectives.
Interaction with customers, sales, product support engineering, program management, manufacturing, quality assurance, GTC, other PPG manufacturing facilities and possibly regulatory agencies is required.
Will actively participate in and the PPG New Product Introduction (NPI) process during Technical Reviews and Management Gate Reviews (including New Program Selection Meeting).

Strong ability to support multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience providing technical support within a manufacturing facility.
Product data management (PDM) experience is a plus.
Must be proficient in both 3D and 2D CAD, SolidWorks and AutoCAD preferred.
5+ years’ experience in the Aerospace industry.
Experience with Aerospace structural design and analysis, including knowledge of finite element method.
Must possess strong communication and collaboration skills.
Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering field required.
