Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements during field operations.
Support engineers and designers by providing accurate field information and observations to inform project designs.
Operate and maintain field tools, equipment, and technology such as GPS, range finders, and measuring devices.
Ensure proper care and calibration of equipment to maintain accuracy and reliability.
Conduct inspections of poles, lines, and related equipment for maintenance, upgrades, or new installations.
Conduct safety assessments before commencing work and report any hazards or unsafe conditions.
Document field conditions, measurements, and system layouts using digital tools, GPS, and field measurement devices.
Coordinate with BC Hydro representatives to confirm requirements and resolve field-related issues.
Prepare detailed field reports, including sketches, photos, and notes, for use by project managers and designers.
Collaborate with teams to troubleshoot technical challenges in the field and ensure timely resolution.
Perform field surveys and gather data for electrical distribution system designs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with BC Hydro standards.
Follow all BC Hydro safety protocols, procedures, and regulations while working in the field.
Communicate regularly with team members, supervisors, and clients to provide updates on field activities and project progress.

Previous experience in pole line inspection, distribution design, or system maintenance.
Commitment to safety and adherence to BC Hydro’s safety standards.
Physically capable of working in outdoor environments and diverse weather conditions.
Familiarity with BC Hydro standards, tools, and processes.
Training or experience in electrical utilities, construction, or surveying.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in field operations, surveying, or working on electrical distribution systems.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Diploma in Electrical Technology, Civil Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, maps, and system layouts.
Proficiency in using GPS systems, field data collection tools, and other related software or equipment.
Experience working on BC Hydro projects is highly preferred.
