Groundskeeper

Description

The Groundskeeper is responsible for the overall upkeep of the property’s exterior landscape and common areas. This includes cleaning driveways, parking lots, curbs, dumpster areas, and exterior hallways, as well as maintaining flowerbeds, lawns, and grass areas. Additional duties involve snow removal and routine pool cleaning or maintenance.

Daily tasks focus on keeping all common areas, office spaces, and amenities neat and free of litter, both inside and outside the property. The role requires mowing, trimming, edging, and pruning shrubs and trees, as well as applying fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides. The Groundskeeper also handles leaf removal, trash container sanitation, snow shoveling, salting, planting, watering, fence and wall repairs, pool area upkeep, drainage cleaning, and operation of tractor‑mounted equipment. Tool sharpening and minor equipment repairs are performed as needed, and the schedule may include weekends or special events.

• Clean and maintain pool and surrounding area.
• Operate tractor with mower, spreader, roller, and snow equipment.
• Sharpen tools and perform minor equipment repairs.
• Remove trash from vacant apartments and maintain storage areas.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a High School Diploma or GED and possess practical knowledge of grounds maintenance, landscaping, and basic interior/exterior upkeep. The position demands the ability to work independently, strong time‑management and prioritization skills, and a reliable attendance record. Employees are expected to maintain high quality and safety standards, following established procedures and promoting a safe work environment.
