The Senior Accountant supports the Manager, Accounting with complex analysis and reconciliation reviews, handling ad‑hoc analysis, process improvement, and standardizing balance‑sheet account reconciliations. The role also facilitates the transition of activities from Finance Operations to the Accounting Center of Expertise and is based in Vancouver, BC.
Core duties include reviewing bank reconciliations, GST/PST/QST returns, subledger‑to‑general‑ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and US sales tax returns, as well as providing support for complex balance‑sheet reconciliations and overseeing the job‑insurance cycle. The Senior Accountant also mentors junior staff, creates standardized templates, prepares donation summaries for the Ledcor Cares program, and generates tax‑related financial statements and working papers.
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (or CPA designation), 3‑5 years of multi‑entity accounting experience, audit and consolidation background, and the ability to interpret accounting standards. Proficiency with JD Edwards or a large ERP, advanced Excel skills, strong analytical abilities, and excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.
This is a hybrid role, working in the office 1‑2 days per week, with a base salary range of $76,400‑$105,050, complemented by a competitive total‑rewards package that supports physical, mental, and financial well‑being.
