Assembler - 2nd Shift

Description

The position involves subassembly of components for hoist builds, requiring interpretation of blueprints, written and verbal specifications, and may be assigned to either the electric or manual classification within the assembly department.

The role demands a strong focus on safety, cleanliness, and quality, with expectations to maintain an orderly work area and ensure that all produced parts meet required standards.

• Perform bench operations such as filing, chipping, deburring, drilling, tapping, and reaming.
• Bend pipes and attach fittings or flexible hoses.
• Lubricate moving parts and fill assemblies with oil or hydraulic fluid.
• Dismantle and reassemble units that do not function properly.
• Use hand torches for heating and perform welding tasks related to product assembly.
• Wire hoists for testing and inspection in compliance with NEC code requirements.
• Conduct mechanical and electrical assembly of small and medium-sized assemblies, including wire cutting, splicing, soldering, and crimping.
• Strip and stencil component electrical parts as required.
• Gather repair parts and identify repair orders.
• Move materials by hand, hand truck, or overhead lifting devices as directed.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area.
• Read and interpret assembly blueprints and electrical diagrams.
• Use hand and power tools and operate machines such as drill press, hydraulic press, and pedestal grinder.
• Produce quality parts and make minor adjustments on final assembly or test.
• Use measuring instruments like rules, scales, squares, tape, voltmeter, and ammeter.

Requirements

Successful candidates should be capable of reading and interpreting technical drawings, using a variety of hand and power tools, operating machines such as drill presses and hydraulic presses, and performing precise measurements with appropriate instruments.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (preferred but not required) and any prior experience or training is considered a plus.
