Geotechnical EIT/Designer

Description

• Travel throughout the Southeast to perform oversight of drilling operations, including logging and classifying soil and rock materials in accordance with applicable standards
• Conduct field inspections of construction activities, including earthwork and foundation installations
• Perform assignments exercising judgement in evaluation, selection, and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures
• Set up field exploration programs and coordinate with subcontractors

Requirements

• Must have a familiarity with geotechnical engineering software and Microsoft office programs.
• EIT certification or the ability to obtain within 12 months required; candidates without their EIT will initially be titled “Geotechnical Designer”
• MS in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related technical discipline required
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• Must have a knowledge of soil mechanics.
• Experience with GIS preferred.
• Local candidates are preferred.
• Familiarity with CAD software (MicroStation) preferred.
• Experience with MS Office and software applications
• Must be willing to travel throughout the Southeast, mainly NC.
• Have strong oral and written communication skills
• Be capable of working independently or in a team environment assisting senior geotechnical staff
• Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
