To work closely with the operations group providing timely and accurate information reporting and is responsible for all phases of project accounting including but not limited to job cost and profitability analysis, research, and communication with project managers and senior management on project status.
- Review and provide analysis for month-end rate letter WIP
- Provide financial reports (including month-end) to a wide variety of personnel including company executives, field personnel, mid-level management and corporate representatives
- Assist in the development/enhancement of project reporting
- Review divisional job performances including cost (committed and uncommitted), billing, revenue recognition, contract value, and job setup, etc.
- Compile and review monthly fixed asset documents
- Analyzing and interpreting month-end POC performance worksheets for revenue recognition and accuracy
- Develop and maintain detailed analysis on ad-hoc requests
- Ensure established internal control processes are adhered to and provide input where improvement may be made
- Produce month-end journal entries, allocations and reconciliations
- Full AR cycle review and management, including billing, aging, and cash receipts
- Organize and review documentation for internal and external audit visits
- Maintain job attributes for monthly reporting
- Work closely with operational personnel (Division VP, Project and Construction Managers) to evaluate job progress, performance and profitability
- Responsible for monthly forecasting of divisional performance including analysis and review
- Organize and evaluate intra- and inter-company transactions
- Assist in other projects as needed at both the divisional level and company-wide
- Work with project managers on billing verification, collection matters, and troubleshooting problems

Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without visa sponsorship. No third-party recruiters, please.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required. Minimum 8 years experience of progressively responsible experience in accounting. CPA license and experience within a project driven organization is preferred.
- Strong detail-oriented review and analytical skills
- Experience with enterprise software (Hyperion/Essbase), StarBuilder and JD Edwards is preferred
- Knowledge of accounting for construction projects under the percentage of completion (POC) method
- Strong computer software skills including MS Office (particularly Excel)
- POC and Non-POC accounting experience including time and materials/rate letter and cost plus
- Excellent interpersonal communications and organizational skills
- Strong understanding of current SOX environment and requirements
- Must be able and willing to travel overnight for trainings and/or meetings as required (10%)
- Must be able to endure prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer for a minimum of 8 hours a day
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in order to meet deadlines
- Strong understanding of all accounting functions and back office processes
- May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
- This position requires minimal physical effort.
