Safety Specialists work closely with field staff, clients, subcontractors, management and external organizations throughout all phases of electric construction projects. They are responsible for ensuring adherence to safety policies, procedures, and regulations while building positive professional relationships. The role is location‑based, covering worksites across the assigned project area and involves varying amounts of travel.
- Conduct site visits to observe and document safety behaviors and conditions.
- Create and coordinate site‑specific safety plans with Operations teams.
- Participate in safety meetings, project kick‑off, and progress meetings.
- Align client safety requirements with company policies and regulations.
- Verify compliance with local, state, and federal environmental and occupational safety laws.
- Coach and mentor project personnel on safe work practices.
- Perform behavior‑based safety observations and PPE hazard assessments.
- Schedule and facilitate training such as new‑hire orientation, OSHA refresher, customer‑required and post‑incident training.
- Lead accident and injury investigations, including root‑cause analysis.
- Support incident case management and ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Assist safety committees in analyzing performance trends and proposing improvements.
- Maintain regular attendance and adhere to the Code of Business Conduct.

Candidates should have at least two years of environmental, health and safety experience, a high school diploma or GED, and preferably a safety certification such as CSHO, CHST, SMS, SSH, or CSP. Strong problem‑solving, communication, and organizational skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and a solid understanding of OSHA and electric construction practices are essential. The ability to work independently, travel for extended site visits, and collaborate across departments is required.
- Minimum two years of EHS experience required.
- Hold at least a high school diploma or GED; safety certification preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication with ability to influence behavior.
- Knowledge of OSHA and industry safety regulations.
