  • Partner with the Safety Department to investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective training and prevention strategies.
  • Partner with TA to create strong relationships with trade schools, apprenticeship programs, and community partners to develop long-term workforce pipelines.
  • Ensure all craft workers follow proactive safety measures including pre-planning, hazard mitigation, and compliance with company safety policies.
  • Support continuous improvement through craft training in safety, productivity, leadership, and technology.
  • Support onboarding programs that engage new hires and reinforce Boyd Jones’ culture and expectations.
  • Partner with training providers and internal leaders to plan, deliver, and track skill development programs.
  • Lead forecasting and resource planning to ensure each project is staffed with qualified craft talent.
  • Develop and manage regional and national labor allocation strategies to optimize workforce utilization.
  • This role will split time between an office environment and active construction job sites.
  • Monitor labor budgets, productivity, and efficiency metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for workforce communication across project and operations teams.
  • Collaborate with project teams to mitigate schedule and budget impacts related to labor resources.
  • Advise project teams during preconstruction and bidding on labor costs, crew planning, and self-perform capabilities.
  • Drive the professional growth of the craft workforce by defining clear career paths and certification standards.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to attract, hire, and retain top craft talent across all trades.
  • Maintain a detailed craft workforce database organized by trade, skill level, and certifications.
  • Partner with General Superintendents and Project Managers to anticipate staffing needs and align resources with project schedules and goals.
  • Partner with HR and field operations to develop innovative labor strategies and resource forecasting tools.
  • Provide input on tool and equipment selections to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective field operations.
  • Oversee accurate timecard submission, coding, and approval to support real-time project cost tracking.
  • Champion Boyd Jones’ safety culture, modeling and enforcing a zero-injury environment.

  • Construction job sites involve exposure to varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, wind) and fluctuating outdoor temperatures.
  • Proven success in strategic workforce management, labor forecasting, and training program implementation.
