This role will initially take the lead on a number of special projects that would typically sit outside of BAU activities, which includes the digitisation of the quotation process to improve efficiency and client experience, review and optimise the profitability of products and services, and drive strategic initiatives that support business growth, market competitiveness, and operational excellence.

Revision and Digitising the Quotation Process

  • Establish digital quotation KPIs to track speed, accuracy, and conversion rates.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee the company’s commercial strategy in alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Support business development activities through strategic input on tenders, partnerships, and new market entry.
  • Lead cross-functional projects to enhance revenue streams and operational efficiency.
  • Identify market opportunities, emerging trends, and competitive threats.
  • Promote and adhere to all BBA policies and actively promote the BBA wherever possible.
  • Present regular commercial performance updates to the senior leadership team.
  • Support in developing value propositions and go-to-market strategies for new products/services.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and client focus.
  • Conduct a review of the existing quotation process to identify efficiencies, with the view to systemising and digitising – cross functionally.
  • Map current quotation workflows to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for digitisation.
  • Conduct ongoing profitability analysis of products, services, and client accounts.
  • Delivery of commercial strategy milestones on time and within budget.
  • Lead commercial due diligence for potential new offerings or partnerships.
  • Work with finance teams to develop robust costing and margin reporting tools.
  • Responsible for your own health and safety and that of your colleagues and others on the BBA premises in accordance with relevant health and safety legislation and the BBA Health & Safety Handbook.
  • Provide training and change management support for internal teams adopting new systems.
  • Lead the end-to-end transformation of the quotation process, including scoping, selecting, and implementing digital tools/platforms.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop commercial team members to achieve departmental and organisational goals.
  • Collaborate with IT, sales, technical and operations teams to ensure seamless integration with existing systems (e.g., CRM, BC).
  • Implement contract management processes to ensure commercial compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Recommend actions to improve margins and optimise the product/service portfolio.
  • Lead pricing and margin optimisation initiatives across the business.

  • Strong track record in leading and working within SaaS environments • Advanced commercial acumen, including pricing, margin management, and product profitability analysis.
  • Professional qualifications (e.g., CIPS, CIMA, or equivalent) advantageous.
  • Strong track record in leading digital transformation initiatives, particularly in the sales acquisition process
  • Leadership experience, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop teams.
  • Excellent contract negotiation and management skills.
  • Positive stakeholder feedback on commercial function performance.
  • Data-driven mindset with proficiency in analytics tools and Dynamics CRM & ERP systems.
