  • Attend training classes to maintain current knowledge of fire codes, regulations, and alarm systems
  • Make modifications and/or repairs to existing alarm and detection systems
  • Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
  • Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain and take any corrective action needed.
  • Identify corrective actions necessary to bring alarm and detection systems into compliance with applicable fire codes, laws, regulations, and standards, and explain these measures to property owners or their representatives
  • Respond to service calls for alarm and detection systems (may include emergency calls during non-standard working hours)
  • Inspect and test fire protection or fire detection systems to verify that such systems are installed in accordance with appropriate laws, codes, ordinances, regulations, and standards
  • Install new systems and system components
  • Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.

  • Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload.
  • All candidates offered a position must successfully pass pre-employment drug and background screens.
  • Knowledge of functions associated with testing of fire alarms, access control, and security systems.
  • Must have valid Driver's License and clean Department of Motor Vehicles report
  • Able to meet all physical requirements.
  • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
  • Thoroughly capable of reading, interpreting, and applying system design plans, as well as building construction drawings and documents.
  • NICET Certification Level II or higher in Fire Alarm Systems required
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Experience with fire detection systems including VESDA, FM200 and other gas extinguishing systems
  • Complete knowledge of low voltage wiring, especially troubleshooting.
  • Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 200 ft)
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required
  • Experience in Fire Protection/Life Safety industry
  • High level of knowledge & application of National Fire Alarm Code
