Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Plant Integration Engineering, the manager oversees the GVH Site Engineering organization throughout construction, pre‑operational, and startup testing phases. Responsibilities include supervising construction prerequisites, component testing, and acting as the primary Design Authority for the GVH Site Engineering Office at DNNP-1.
The manager leads the technical and managerial direction of a diverse engineering team, hiring, coaching, and developing technical and leadership talent. They establish and maintain collaborative relationships with internal engineering managers, business leaders, project managers, stakeholders, and external partners, customers, and regulatory agencies.
Key duties involve owning the field change process, creating engineering specifications, acceptance criteria, and procedures, while protecting GVH intellectual property and managing configuration control. The role also supports GVH process‑improvement, Lean initiatives, nuclear quality requirements, and ensures compliance with nuclear safety standards.
The BWRX-300 Oshawa Site Engineering Manager is a key leader for GVH Engineering, responsible for supporting DNNP-1 site readiness, construction, and commissioning. The role demands strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities to ensure engineering support excellence.
Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, at least eight years of engineering management experience, and a Professional Engineer licence in Ontario. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada, report onsite in Oshawa, and meet U.S. export control eligibility.
Desired characteristics are demonstrated experience in site, new construction, or startup engineering, leading cross‑functional teams, and managing complex projects. Proven expertise in engineering change management, strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, excellent communication, and prior nuclear industry experience are valued.
