The Manager of Construction is accountable for planning, coordinating, and executing construction activities on natural‑gas infrastructure projects. The role leads a team of construction managers, inspectors, and support staff, providing leadership throughout development, design, construction, commissioning, and turnover. Success depends on close coordination with Project Management, Operations, Environmental, Safety, Asset Integrity and other departments.
Key responsibilities include supervising all construction‑related activities, reviewing scopes, schedules, cost estimates and contracts, and identifying risk mitigation strategies. The manager drives contractor selection, qualification, and capability assessments, and implements a QA/QC inspection program to ensure quality and contract compliance. Additional duties involve workforce planning, career development, and resolving issues related to quality, staffing, and change orders.
Required qualifications are a High School Diploma or GED plus a minimum of twelve years of construction, inspection or commissioning experience in oil and gas facilities. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Science and fifteen years of experience with natural‑gas pipelines, processing plants or compressor stations. The candidate must demonstrate strong organizational and interpersonal skills, deep knowledge of codes and standards (ASME, DOT, API, OSHA, AWS), and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Primavera P6 and earned‑value management.
