Role
Description
Develop and refine standardized estimating and project handoff procedures to enhance consistency and efficiency.
Review project scopes, specifications, and plans to validate accuracy of estimates and identify risks.
Collaborate with estimating and accounting teams to reconcile variances between bid and actual costs.
Approve and track change orders, labor, equipment, and material budgets within company software (e.g., Aspire).
Track production data and trends in coordination with estimators to improve accuracy of future bids.
Report project financial performance and forecasts to the Branch Manager and executive team.
Manage project budgets and perform regular job costing reviews to ensure profitability and accuracy.
Negotiate vendor agreements and monitor material deliveries to prevent delays.
Support estimating and business development through lessons learned, cost data feedback, and market insights.
Oversee all aspects of project execution from award through closeout, ensuring schedule, budget, and quality objectives are met.
Represent the company in meetings, presentations, and networking events as needed.
Forecast labor, equipment, and material needs in coordination with the Branch Manager and purchasing team.
Collaborate on revenue forecasting and backlog tracking with the Branch Manager to align workload and profitability goals.
Lead project kickoff, preconstruction meetings, and ongoing coordination with clients, designers, and internal teams.
Monitor project progress and proactively address schedule delays, cost variances, and scope changes.
Supervise and support superintendents, field staff, and project coordinators, promoting teamwork and accountability.
Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching and feedback, and participate in hiring and disciplinary actions.
Maintain accurate project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and financial reports.
Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with specifications, safety, and workmanship standards.
Identify operational inefficiencies and implement solutions to improve productivity and profitability.
Manage subcontractor relationships, ensuring performance aligns with project scope, quality, and safety requirements.
Foster a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement across all job sites.
Bridge communication between estimating and operations to ensure seamless project handoff and execution.
Support the estimating team by reviewing bids for constructability, production rates, and material assumptions.
Use project management tools (e.g., Autodesk, Aspire) to track and communicate progress.
Perform post-project job cost analysis and provide feedback to estimators based on actual performance data.
