The Web Assembly Technician performs a variety of duties to move, grind, and assemble a web, focusing on preparing composite components for blade production while adhering to quality standards.
Key responsibilities include cutting and grinding excess resin and fiberglass, sanding web surfaces for adhesive bonding, and executing repairs by overlaying fiberglass soaked in resin. The technician assembles web halves by installing spacers, hardware, lightening arrestors, and glue channels, then transports the assembled webs to storage or production areas. All materials must follow work instructions and receive quality approval, and continuous communication with coworkers is required.
Required qualifications include Crane Operator and Crane Spotter certifications, strong communication and basic math skills, the ability to stand or walk for long periods, and the mandatory use of a respirator. Physical demands involve operating hand and power tools, handling heavy machinery, lifting or carrying up to 40 lb, and pushing or pulling heavy objects.
Desired characteristics are a High School Diploma or GED with related work experience, preferably in manufacturing or composite materials. The position operates on a 2 pm‑10:30 pm shift.
