Senior Estimator

Description

• Estimate Indirect cost including management, construction equipment and tools.
• Interface with Owner and contractors to provide engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility.
• Effectively communicate with all industry stake-holders and partners - fellow fabricators, general contractors, suppliers, design community, and other representatives or consultants.
• Review proposal specifications, drawings, and conditions to determine scope of work.
• Optimize job costs by negotiating prices with vendors/sub-contractors through quotations for material/services.
• Prepare budgets, subcontracts, purchase orders and assist in preliminary project schedules.
• Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers etc.).
• Manage a high volume of estimates and proposals to meet the company's goals and expectations.
• Provide consultation on planning (schedules, manpower needs etc.).
• Maintain strong and positive relationships with operations teams.
• Coordinate bid preparation requirements with the Contract Administrator.
• Ensure proper project hand off when project is taken over by PM/Team.
• Be an example and mentor when appropriate to other estimating staff.

Your knowledge of structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication and erection is required. The ideal candidate will have experience in Bluebeam, Tekla, and PowerFab, with excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset. You must be thorough and apt in steel takeoffs, estimating, customer relationships, and co-worker relations. Your Goal - is to produce accurate, high quality estimates and proposals which convert into positive revenue.

• 5+ year’s steel construction estimating experience.
• Experience with estimating software(s).
• Excellent communication skills with a strong math aptitude.
• Experience in conceptual estimating and design build.
• Experience in industrial & commercial structural & miscellaneous construction work.
• Able to work with speed, accuracy, and consistently meet deadlines.
• Understanding of the influence of market conditions on pricing.
• Strong business communication and leadership skills, supervisory experience preferred.
• Proficient in relevant software (Bluebeam, Tekla EPM, PowerFab, etc.)
