This role offers the chance to apply and expand an academic background in Instrumentation and Controls Engineering while working on project teams designing new upstream and midstream oil and gas facilities. Responsibilities include developing P&IDs, I/O lists, control panel designs, control and electrical schematics, control narratives, network architecture, cable schedules, location plans, and preparing procurement specifications for instrumentation and controls equipment. The Engineer will also participate in Process Hazard Analyses, design reviews, and will interact directly with client representatives to address design questions, traveling to client and vendor offices and plant sites for coordination and field verification. The position follows a hybrid work arrangement with three days on‑site in the Englewood, CO office and two remote days.
Candidates must hold a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering with strong coursework in analog and digital control systems, and possess at least six years of relevant oil and gas or industrial experience. Required skills include practical application of instrumentation and controls engineering principles, proficiency in MS Excel, and excellent written and verbal communication. Experience working collaboratively in teams is essential, and the employer does not sponsor U.S. work authorization. Preferred qualifications include passing the Fundamentals of Engineering exam, an Engineer‑in‑Training designation, PE licensure, knowledge of technical design tools, AutoCAD proficiency, and experience with SCADA and radio networks.

The compensation range for this position is $82,380.00 to $125,860.00, with the total package comprising base salary, a comprehensive benefits program, and eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus. Sargent & Lundy complies with all local and state regulations regarding salary transparency.
