Overview
Design HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for municipal and building projects.

Tasks
-Coordinating with the design of other disciplines -Preparing primarily mechanical drawing deliverables as required -Designing and drafting of plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection systems -Performing field investigation for incorporation of existing conditions into construction documents as needed. -Participating in the Quality Review process with the responsible Engineer and Lead Verifier -Performing drafting assignments utilizing CAD or 3d modeling software; preparation of plans, sections, elevations, details, and construction documents for review and approval -Assisting with, or carrying out, the preparation of deliverables and products such as load calculations, specifications, equipment selections, and cost estimates related to HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for commercial, institutional and light industrial facilities -Delivers on promises to project team members, consultants and clients -Assisting with construction administration duties, such as shop drawing review, RFI response, construction inspection, and respond to client questions. -Coordinates and helps establish design criteria in accordance with industry standards in conjunction with Lead Engineers.

What You Bring
-Familiarity with local provincial & National Building Code/Energy Code/Plumbing Code/Fire Code, ASHRAE, NFPA, and SMACNA -Experience with Carrier’s HAP and McQuay “Ductsizer” programs -Professional and timely communication to internal team members and external stakeholders -Ability to work on of many projects simultaneously -AScT, PTech, or CET designation -Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit. -Working within a project team environment and possess good communication skills. -At least eight (8) + years of relevant experience doing Mechanical Design work on institutional, commercial, light industrial, or municipal buildings (or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.) Experience with water and wastewater facilities is considered an asset -Self-starter and can work with minimum supervision -Experience in using Revit for modeling, and Navisworks and BIM 360 for Model and clash coordination. Experience with Bentley Microstation is considered an asset. -Experience with following and implementing Client CAD/BIM Standards -Self-motivated as well as a team player -Valid Driver's License. -Experience in a wide variety of HVAC systems, plumbing, fire protection, load calculations, and all other building systems -Experience using Microsoft Office tools including Teams, Excel, Word, Project and Power Point -Ability to read multi-disciplinary plans -Experience with energy modeling software such as Trane “TRACE 700”, “eQuest” and “DOE-2” is considered an asset. -Technical Diploma in Mechanical Systems Design + 5 years experience, building mechanical systems or High School Diploma+ 7 years experience, building mechanical systems -Experience in multi-disciplinary projects as related to buildings and infrastructure market segments -Excellent comprehension of verbal and written English
